A bedouin friend of my dad's had us over for dinner. They served us lamb, with the lamb's head cooked in the center of the platter. This is quite the honor, showing your guests that they are even worth the head of a lamb being served to them, the delicacy of the animal. (Fortunately) We were not asked to eat any portion of the head, though apparently the tongue is wonderful. We then were taught to eat the rice and lamb with our right hands, and all from the one center platter.

ooh! I love the pic of Erin chasing a chicken...reminds me of another event that happened at a certain professors house...haha.
why is the post called a bromatology...is that (brom) the name for food in Jordan?
you know this reminds me...in Haiti, when i go to visit they always kill a goat for me as a welcoming gesture. and yes the brain and tongue are considered delicacies- so miss Ashley we have something in common.
"You eat sheep head and I eat goat head, we eat sheep and goat head together...THIS IS FOR YOU ASH...REMEMBER.
So...I'm really behind in the updates because of Philly craziness. These posts are just so awesome to read and to be able to hear about what you are going through. I realy can't accurately respond to them, but i can respond to one thing! I was driving down Olney Ave. in Philly, and there was a camel in the middle of a parking lot...and I thought to myself "MAN! I want that camel." (they had a petting zoo...) So, one day, we will both own a camel:). haha...I love you guys and am praying.
Guys, I miss you a lot, but I’m so excited about what the Lord is teaching you there…and it’s so awesome to hear about the body of Christ in other parts of this world. It IS alive and active, unlike us lazy, stupid Americans
P.S. Erin-those Arabic stories made me pee my pants. I can just imagine you shaking that angry fist at the stupid chickens. And, I miss those fart smells, Ash…so much.
I love you
